Oh, Sorry I just checked and it wasn't speaker city it was simply speakers. Here is the link to the kit I used which was an exact fit: DynAudio Speaker Foam Edge Repair Kit, 11" DynAudio 30W-54, 30W-100, MW-190, FSK-11DYN |

Hi Mercury,
You're right, after emailing the seller he said the same thing, they were stuck together. So I pulled the driver out and removed the old surround. Damn that old surround glue is still sticky, I wonder if the adhesive remover they sell for removing the glue left behind when you remove stickers etc. from things appliances and such things. I watched the youtube video of the guy doing a surround on a 24w100, he sure makes it look easy. I found an old vegetable tray/dip server which is on a turntable base, actually works pretty good when cleaning the old surround off. The company who is selling the dynaudio drivers is TC Group-Americas. The guy who I was taling with is John Setej, johns@tcq-americas.com. THe drivers are the 30w100XL model not the 30w100. These are the driver numbers he sent me. 795029011 - 30W 100XL 08 DA 87995 Woofer 795028011 - 30W 100XL DA 87980 Woofer 795027011 - 30W 100XL 04 DA 87960 woofer He said you can place an order with any TC dealer, so I'm sure they have one in the states somewhere. Didn't you say you had the 30w100 not the XL model? If you're interested in selling the 30w100s I know someone who might be interested in taking them off your hands if the price is right. There was a local guy selling a used pair on ebay and they went for $298 USD about 2 months. Cheers, Walter

Yeah I thought they might just be stuck together. Hope they work for you.
Thanks for the info on the 30W100-XL's However after checking the parms it doesn't look like they will work very much better than my current 30W100's. I'm still thinking of moving up to a pair of 15's for more power in the low end. I have lots of ideas. For instance I may keep the 30W100's and run them up to about 200hz, then put a velodyne 15inch plus for like 60hz below. My main speakers a Acoustat 2+2 which are great but lose dynamics (as does any electrostat) at high levels low frequencies. I'm thinking put a better amp on my 2+2's while raising the crossover to 200hz will enable me to get higher levels/dynamics out of them. I'm not for sure yet but I "think" it might be possible to run the 30W100's all the way up to 300hz. Maybe 200 should be good enough though. Sorry getting off topic. Have so many ideas floating around in my head but it seems everything I chose to try has some time of comprimise or trade off involved. Mark |

Well if it were me I wouldn't go bigger I would just go for more drivers.
Now i just have to find some good glue residue remover, after all these years and the old glue on the driver is still gooie.

yeah but can't find 30W100's anymore not to mention four of um would require a box thats to big. These like a box bigger than most 15's.
That's not the old glue that's the broken down foam stuck to the cone. Yep getting that off took me several hours. Have to be careful not to damage the cone. |

Well I finally got them done. Actually not too big a job. The best part is I cranked them up and no problems. Did a sweep on them and they're good to go. Although I'm not sure if the bottom end is quite the same as it was before. Could no doubt be that the new surrounds are a lot stiffer than the old ones were and it might take a while to break them in or loosen them up.
