Amp goes into protect mode on high notes

So when i put on Camaro-young jeezy the bass cuts out at the 3rd bass pitch (The high one) and my amp is left in protect mode. Any idea as to why this is happening? its done it on a few other songs too. could it be the way i have it tuned?

My guess is a nasty impedance spike at that frequency.
What driver(s) are you using and what load is the amp running at?

amp clipping?
sufficient headroom/underdriven speakers?

I have a 4 channel pyramid crystal PB1881x amp. 2 jvc 1000w 4ohm subs. and use a little more simple language if you need anything else, im not a pro at this. haha

Meh, if the subs were wired for 2 ohms, that wouldn't do the amp any favours.

If you just connect one sub, does the problem go away?

The best Pyramid amps are OK down to 4R in stereo, 8R in mono.

The lowest priced ones aren't worth buying.

Agreed , the amp I presume is seeing a 2ohm load, which I doubt it's rated for. In addition, it's more than likely producing 1/4-1/3 of it's advertised output, as has been my experience with these off brand amps (pyramid, legacy, boss, etc.)
Hopefully you didn't give up much coin for this stuff. Maybe scale back that hooch habit, and spend some more on amp/subs worth installing.

Got it all for free, just bought wires and a head unit. And all my money is goin for college.

The problem doesnt go away if only one is working, tried both.

Ill def have a better system when i have cash to spend. But whats a lest costly/good quality amp to power the subs posted above.
