Hi!
I need help from people with horn experience and knowledge to re-engineer the bass horn of a Lowther Academy, with the purpose to be able to model it in hornresp. I got approval from Lowther to share their drawings, re-engineer the bass horn and make my own changes to their drawing, and build it. My goal is to make the horn exit to the floor, and put the cabinet onto a tractrix shaped base(height-adjustable) that work as a adjustable extension of the horn, very much like the Lowther Delphic's. The problem is to model the existing horn, model new horn exit and create a perfect contour for a base to work as a effective extension of the horn. My thread on the project is here: Designing a tractrix shape for horn speaker base. Please look into it if you got the time for it. Thanks |

You would do better to use AkAbak for this one to start off with, and then pull an HR model from that.

I think tractrix was originally constructed by use of a stick, with one end moving along the middle, and other end pointing at next point

I could have swore there was a thread here at DIYaudio.
Here is one I did at another site: AkAbak for Dummies I know there was one here. It started in a TH thread, and was broken off from it. |
