Default Is this sub going to outperform SVS PB12-NSD ?

Hi,

Judging from the graphs below ... would the sub I wanna build outperform the PB12-NSD sub made by SVS ?

Its a 120 liter box tuned to 20hz using a 500watt bash amp with PEQ at 80hz -2db and static gain +3db with high pass filter @15hz

If you get any room gain you are going to have too much bass output.

I dn't know if it is overkill, but you have forgotten to take room gain into account. I shoot for a response that starts declining at 50-80 hz and am looking for the lowest F10 (f3 is meaningless)

Add a 3-6 dB per octave uplift with a corner at ~70 hz and see where your curve ends up.

Dave's exactly right about the advice he's provided. With the results you show, the only place that it'll sound right is outdoors.

Best Regards,
TerryO

If this is for movies the first one will do.

If this is for music the last one will do.

If this is for both you want the first one, and something to customize the EQ.

In this enclosure: Use any Sub-amp > 160W and EQ is not necessary as this enclosure should be stuffed with wool like an TL to half-ways down the line, counted from the rear of the driver:
