Hi all,
anybody can help me explaining the plus and minus of Tapped Horn vs Folded TL for subwoofer? I am going to build a sub, but still can't decide wether TH or TL, the sub should have enough gain down to 25Hz, but don't need to shaking glass window, just comfortable to hear in room with size 15ftx25ft (85dB at Fs, maybe?) thank's |

There are no pros or cons. Either is fine, as long as you get what you are after out of it.

A true horn is BIG and gets the most SPL out of the driver, TL is smaller and less efficient. TH is somewhere inbetween. Apart from that, just get the system that suits your needs in terms of size, spl and response, as they have all the same soundquality, if done correct.

Hornresp, yes. But designing those horns has a little learning curve. If you want reliable results, search for one of the million threads from people who allready build one and clone it. Volvotreter (he has his own homepage) comes to my mind here. Great stuff.
