Hi,
Using a car subwoofer in the home would depend a lot on the Thiele-Small parameters. These are a set of numbers, unique to each driver, which will determine how they perform, what size box they work best in... There are many bass response modelling programs out there, which you put the numbers into, and it'll tell you how it'll perform. I'd advise a sealed cabinet, as they often work best in-room, where room gain slows the roll-off considerably. They are also very tolerant to differences in T/S parameters. Chris

sekhar, you may PM me for details. However, this driver's sensitivity is not too high and it would work optimally in a front loaded horn. But if you are interested in a mid-sized ported design, using this driver and a lower f3 of 25Hz, let me know.

Hi Sekhar,
The Eminence distributors for india (AFAIK) are Cinetekk in Chennai. You can email them at sales@cinetekk.co.in. When i asked (6 weeks ago) they had the Lab12 in stock. The driver is quite heavy at 10kg so the shipping cost from Chennai to you in West Bengal will be considerable. cheers mymindinside |
