Ditto. What driver and horn are you using on the top section?

I use an ev dh7 on a ev hr90 horn.
I have the "cd-eq" jumper connected on the active crossover.
I parallel a 1uf with 21ohms, both in parallel with the driver (more hf-boost).

All of this is crossed over actively at 750hz Linkwitz Riley 24db to a pair of Eminence Magnum 15lf in a jbl 4508a cab with 1 port stuffed (30hz tuning).

I've been debating trying one of the 400hz stereo lab round tractrix horns, but to me it would not load as low as the ev (lack of pattern control at a higher frequency, thusly less lower mids farfield).

What ya using ?

Norman

The top section is a P-Audio BM-D750 driver running from 700Hz on up with a P-Audio 4525 horn. The bass bin is a DIY dual bin with Emminence Kappalite 3015LF drivers. I recently picked up the bottom end from 50Hz on down with individual Klipsch RSW-15 subs. The active crossover is an Ashly Protea 4.8SP.

The DIY subs I am finishing will be used exclusively for the movie LFE channel.

Rudy, one of the 1st measurements you want to take is impedance... you can interpret that to make sure the box/driver are all operating to spec... and no leaks, coil rub etc. It's also the easiest to compare with other comparable builds... no reflections, mic calibration issues etc.

Thank you. I plan on doing that tomorrow morning. I decided to remove the drivers to lug those behemoths up a flight of stairs. Good thing too, they were heavy enough as it was.

I will post the results ASAP. I honestly don't know what I will be looking for in terms of good vs. poor results, so your help will be appreciated.

Actually, no time like the present. Here is the result of one DIY TH that I finished tonight. Does anything indicate a problem?

Looks about right from what I remember.

One question though, did you break the drivers in beforehand? The curves look right, but the peaks seem a little different going from memory.
