Found an interesting 'cheap' NEO replacement for the Eminence 3015LF that sims very similar but has on paper slighly better specs, the Monacor SP-15/500FH. In Europe you can find it for less than 200 Euro's and has an Xmax of 9,25mm, power rating of 500Watt rms - 1000Watt max and weights 4,4Kg.
Wow, nice find! Looking forward to see if anyone trys these. Andy

After looking at this thread and the TH-18 thread, I have to ask if one of you could sim the following specs for me? They are for a sub I have in storage right now. I have 2 of these and do not do car audio anymore. They are Powerbass 2XL 15D4 subs...I have $700 in the pair and well, you know how it is. lol
any info as to them being useful in a TH horn would be very appreciated. Thanks

Hi Quackhead,

Don't know if this belongs into this thread, but it looks like they would work fine:

They look nice.
I cannot find any T/S data. I will test & measure soon, but that may take a couple of weeks.

I estimate Xmax at <+-4mm.
The cone suspension seems very stiff (low Vas) and runs out of easy travel at ~4mm.

Hi, just curious as to why you bought a speaker without knowing the TSP's first ?

What's with the harassment?
Do we need to get a mod to change your screen name to Big D?

What possible harassment is there in asking what i did ? If anyone had asked me the same question i wouldn't have thought for 1 pico second it was Anything even remotely like harassment ! Plus i would have been more than happy to answer. I'm sure AndrewT can speak for himself, & won't have taken it the wrong way either.

Whatever that's supposed to mean ?

It looks like a well built piece, albeit a mystery. I'd take a flyer on one for that price.

heb jij de T/S parameters van de DAP ab-15?

dan zou ik die graag gepresenteerd zien

Nothing mysterious about it. DAP is a Dutch brand name that is part of Highlite. It's a 'cheap' brand but for the money it's okay.. The AB-15 works just fine in the SS15, but don't overpower it...

Default The most efficient bass cabinet I have ever built!

I have now also built an SS15. It is awesome.

In initial testing it makes a very good impression.
The SS15 is very efficient - more so than my stadium horns, which in turn are considerably more efficient than my (now dumped) 36"x 36"x 31" folded horns...

I think a single SS15 and a pair of nice little mid tops will do for small to medium weddings.
And Now I'm going to build a second one!

Thanks for the great design and all the collaboration that made it this good!

Regards, ben

P.S. However...

Whilst a single or pair of SS15 seems to be ideal for most of my gigs,
a few times a year I have dubstep, drum and bass, jungle, and very heavy synth bass for electronic acts.

The Stadium horns don't go quite low enough for such events. The SS 15 also won't go low enough.

So I'm thinking...

I have spare 4 Kappa 15 - I could put them in SS 15s - I could use them as subs for smaller gigs.

I have 5 spare 3015lf - I could put 4 of them in a dubhorn (designed for Wisounds), or something similar... ( or make two half dubhorns, with two drivers each)
