Default AC power question - suited for here!

OK
So I have been after these people to let me know what type of connection was available to hook up to (for this Saturday!) as I knew they had more than standard 120 outlets.
Well they took pics.(yesterday!) Those were blurry and over saturated due to flash. BUT it looks like an L21-30 receptacle. And then was told (today) it was 220v 3 phase. So a common mistake and will assume it is 208 3 phase as it is definitely 5 wire so it wont be 240 single phase.
Anyway. I found 2 places in town who have
the L21-30 plugs but no one has any 6/5 cable. One place had 12/5 but that wont cut it. So I am thinking since my distro can be wired for either 120/240 single or 208v 3 phase. Couldn't I just use a 6/4 cable and not use one of the leads on the plug? Effectively wiring the distro as a 240 ?
Distro is the Furman ASD 120.

I use 6/4 and hook to two hots, neutral, and ground. I use a clamp-on ammeter to see how well the phases are loaded. Just be careful and do not hook anything to the wild leg in a three-phase open delta system (still common in the Midwest USA).

I agree with your assessment - #6 / 4 conductor cable and wiring the Furman for single phase _should_ get it. However, check and recheck with your RMS voltmeter and make sure it's not something whacky like 277v. I would think that you're right on the money to assume that you'll get 208v from leg to leg.

Given that much power, I'm curious what you're planning to run. Do you have pics?
