Maybe I could build 2 a side of those - I assuming they are Pmax rather than Xmax limited, so should get pretty loud. Then to top them off I like the look of these coaxial drivers Specification ...
or maybe these, because they can be stacked nicely Overview Of course, my subs won't quite keep up, but I have plans (well, aspirations, no plans per se) for the lowest octaves. Give me a month or so and I'll be on this. Regards, Ben |

and then I saw some speakers on sale at one sixth of the current price of the 3015LF...
would these be worth putting in the cabinets - they'd be some much cheaper if I wanted to build more than the first 6! I could sell the 3015LF speakers fairly easily too. Please let me know before I cut start mounting the drivers! Thanks a lot! for now all I can say is this is a set of six simple tapped horns externally measuring 16" by 17" by 60", just a long almost square corss-section straight box, mouth at one end, and the straight baffle is the only internal board. Very probably loaded with my 3015 LF, unless a cheaper alternative is found.
The aim is to give a good 20 Hz when necessary - and to be the only sound equipment provider in my province to do it, both for kicks and to have a unique selling point. Friends of mine run a drum n bass and dubstep collective with monthly gigs. For the small ones I would like to take one or two of these subwoofers, for big ones the whole sixpack - or maybe more one day. However, to allow for expansion it would be preferable to use a (much) cheaper woofer, as the 265 Euro price is downright painful! It would be interesting to know the excursion at various frequences and wattages - so as to run the subs higher for gigs where the very low frequencies are less important than a few more dBs. First outing will be either new year's eve, if I have time - too much other work piling up - and I have to repair some chairs that my wife 'inherited' where the glue is dust! If not, the the next serious gigs will be in the second half of January. Regards, Ben P.S. to really answer EPA's question - I would to make use of some kappa 15a drivers, and will, when the first 6 subs are complete, commence building some horn-loaded tops based on the Lascala. Cut into 4 single driver sections for portability. Pictures to follow shortly. Regards, Ben |
