Everytime we get a "bulge" in a resonant pipe, that bulge acts as a low pass filter. By not making the folded path as "smooth" as possible with roundings or corner deflectors you can gain a lot of low-pass into your horn/resonant pipe -- usually a good thing.

I have noticed this effect in my designs, it's pretty signifigant. (allbeit with folded TL's, but same principle)

does that make it a lot less efficient or just a little?
