Hey, i'm currently in the middle of constructing a pair of Microbes for a friend of mine, and i'm going to need a sub to add some lower extension. I am aiming to spend around 200$ for the driver and amp, we will build the box ourselves out of MDF.
the sub does not need to be incredible, this is an upgrade from a set of ipod speakers however I am still aiming for some quality. I recently repaired an old sub with a 40$ partsexpress driver and 70w dayton amp and something along those lines would suffice. However that build was a compromise just to get something working so I am willing to spend a bit extra here if necessary. does anybody have some suggestions for a sealed sub to use in a smaller size room? |

Madisound have the Peerless XLS12 and XXLS10 on special at the moment.
In a sealed box you should get more than adequate performance, and if budget permits down the line you can add a passive radiator or a high output amp with EQ to extend the low end. Last edited by gooki; 16th November 2009 at 07:41 PM. |

NHT drivers and electronics surplus sale
ASW-1203 Car Subwoofer Amp from Jack, driver from Dr. HSU. Although I would personally put the driver in a 25hz ported cabinet. |
