Hi all
I'm thinking about a DIY subwoofer, partly because I want to improve my current one (indianaline hc810: vented 10" 150w 27÷180 Hz) and partly because I'd simply like to build one. I'd like a small and powerful sealed unit with external amplificator. The amp will 90% be this: behringer a500 which gives 500w 8ohm in bridged mode. The box shouldn't be bigger than 50x50x50cm (50cm is little less than 20 inch). So, first question: which 8 ohm driver would you consider? Thankyou all for your help! Francesco |

Greets!
Well, the simple answer is a <27 Hz Fs 8 ohm 15" woofer with a ~0.4 Qts and ~3 ft^3 Vas with at least a ~500 W Pe and enough Xmax to handle it. That, or some mix of Fs, Vas, Qts to work well in such a small cab. One example is the AE AV15-X: http://aespeakers.com/shop/catalog/p...379b77321564b7 GM
