Setting Amp HPF and Adjusting Cabinet Size
I want to build an Adire Alignment Ported Sub (Plans PDF) with a Dayton DVC385-88 15" DVC Series Subwoofer and a WF-100k amplifier. I am trying to figure out if the stock HPF setting on the amp will unnecessarily limit the amount of home theater range sound I can get. The enclosure is tuned to 15.4Hz. I tried figuring out what I needed by using the calculator on John's site, but had no idea what to use for the input parameters.
Also, how do I figure out how much volume the amplifier will take up and which dimensions to adjust and by how much. I thought at first the volume change would be insignificant enough to just leave the box sizes as given in the plans, but then I figured I would put the question to those smarter than me. Thank you in advance for helping this newb out. |
