In it's day a great driver, frequently placed in a sealed 2-1/2 ft ^3 box. Worked better vented, but I do not remember the details.

The original Win-ISD speaker shareware had the TS data for that driver pre-loaded and would model the driver in various boxes with sufficient accuracy to build a perfectly nice sub-woofer.
Mike Dzurko of ACI fame used this driver in the early Titan Subwoofers that ACI sold. The Titan reviewed quite well, especially with the ACI Sapphire mini monitor. The combination of Sapphire and Titan was very much like the original Wilson Watt Puppy in sound. Cyclotronguy |

For the US people its no doubt a bargain
To us EU people maybe not so much But depends on how good it really is I was close to ordering a pair It was close 270EUR, shipping and customs considered That will be close to a pair of nice top quality 15-18" Precision Devices, excl shipping To me thats an easy choise |

It might well be Theres no cheaper good sub drivers here And it looks impressive I just realised I can get top quality pro woofers for the same money I prefer that, but thats just me I guess Its funny Looks like they have removed some commercial stuff like "new improved etc etc" Im sure I read that before I did wonder about the "new this and new that", as its obvious that its a "new old stock", and that Madisound have bought a container of them, due to the low price Specs seems spot on to do a good sub |

I'm surprised Visaton doesn't have a selection and I thought Vifa, Peerless was readily available. Anyway, for 270E I'd want it to be for at least two drivers.
Yeah, IIRC these use to be sold by Eclipse/Meniscus as the SW1284 at Madisound's normal $150 price. GM

The SV12 is a very low distortion driver if used in a sealed box - under 1% THD in it's usable frequency range. I have two of these subs running in stereo and I haven't owned anything else that sounds as clean and musical.
