Thought I would bring your attention to a sub I have built for my home theater.
I was fortunate to get my hands on a JBL HT1 THX certified surround set, at a very good price. Unfortunatly the subs are quite large, 12 inch drivers each in a 120 l vented box. Old school but very efficient design. As I was going to build a podium for the second row sofa, I thought I might as well use the space in the podium as subwoofer enclosure I did so and can only tell that it is a great use of otherwise vasted space in the room. I also made room for a 19" rack at the side for a 2 x 100W amp from LAB Gruppen. I placed the woofers directly under the sofa, and placed some rather large tubes in each side as vents. I just kept the same tuning as the originals, as tha subs sounded really good as it was. So this is just an idea for anyone to use, which will give you room for some really large and very efficient subs in you home theater Take a look at the bottom of this page for more building information: http://home20.inet.tele.dk/audio/Hom.../Construct.htm |
