Isobaric push-pull with Dayton IB woofer

How about it

The Dayton 15" IB woofer seems like only a halfway IB woofer as it seems to work well in just around 500liter closed

-3db around 25hz, which is pretty good fore a closed design

Which means that 2 woofers in isobaric pushpull would "only" need 250liter

Mind you, its just a quick calculation, I havent checked it carefully

Backside is the high price

Just a word of caution

Seems very sensitive to specs variations
If specs are just slightly off from the listed, it could go completely wrong

I suppose woofers needs to be carefully measured fore thiele/small parameters

Woofer tester seems like a good investment

Would be nice to get a custom IB15 from AE speakers, with accurate specs to suit the design goal, and it seems like much better quality

Use a 4th or 6th order BP, the compression will balance them out good enough.

My software deny the 6th order BP, due to the high Qts

And a simple BR with isobaric ends up at 500liter

Simple closed(isobaric) would be 200-300liter, depending on driver specs

I suppose the calculated closed box would be the backchamber size of a 4th order

Thats fore Dayton 15IB

Dont know about the AE, as it would need be a customised driver with bigger magnet, getting Qts around 0.5

Am I missing a trick somewhere ?

And idealy have custom made modified AE 15IB

If I meant another driver I would have said so.

I was suggesting a 4th or 6th order BP for the Dayton to average out any specs variation with isobaric loading.

Get a more flexible box program. You can do one type of 6th order in HR (both vents exit the cab).

It could be, but with a BP you trade BW for efficiency and vice versa, so it just depends on the gain BW or max box Vb desired. At 250 L it would be a narrow BW with this driver, but the upside is it shouldn't run out of Xmax at rated power and hit near 120 dB peaks down low if you have the amp power (at least 1.2 kW).

Yeah, I know, have to get used to a better software

Anyway, I dont care much about exstreme SPL, but nice to know
Only thought this as maybe being a nice "musical" sub, or "tuneful" as some prefer to call it
Responsive might be a better word
But so far its only silly words

You got one thing right: Isobaric pays off when the box volume would be too huge, and half-huge makes it acceptable. Amplifier power is not a problem for me, the only problem now is the driver costs and house mains.
