Hello,
this is actually the first my-own-started thread in this forum. I hope this category is the right place for this kind of question. Ifm looking for a plate amp for my small desktop audio system. There are no plate amps available in Japanese market because subwoofers are not popular among DIY builders. Could anyone let me know some appropriate units and Internet shops hopefully available from Japan? I would like a good-enough one (but not the high-end). 30 W / 8 ohm will be sufficient. Crossover: 100 c 150 Hz. Please check the attached picture for the system overview or gWWWh for further details. Matsumoto |

Here's a thought for you, that you may not have considered. Assuming you have a pc with a good (400watt or so) power supply, you have all the clean 12v you need for car stereo components (like subwoofer crossovers, or amplifiers)
You are also closer to hong kong, and cheap electronics than most of us... for the 2x15 class d tripath boards, etc.. (A 2x15 would power your 4 little drivers pretty well at 4ohm per channel.) You don't have to go plate amp. My assumption is that your PC case has plenty of space inside to put whatever amplifier, crossover, etc.. you need inside for a nice clean install. |

Thank you, jbell san !
I've never thought of Car audio area. It might be a possibility. Subwoofers are quite popular in this area also in Japan. I'll check it. I have a spare PC case with a 12 V power unitA so anything can be stuffed in it. Matsumoto |
