hey guys i have an eminence bp102 jst lieing around and i want to make a car sub out of it. this is possible right? and also what would be the best box to put it in to get the loudest bass?? cheers

If you can provide a link to the driver data it makes the job easier.
My understanding is that most PRO drivers make relatively poor sub-woofers for home use

That's bass guitar speaker. I wouldn't think it would make much of a subwoofer even if you are planning to use it in a car.

It may indeed work out OK....Heres' the Thiele Smalls.
fs=35Hz Qes=.47 Qms=5.36 Qts=.43 Xmax=6.2mm EBP=75 Sens. 92Db ...40-2K Hz. ____________________Quick, who can crunch the numbers the fastest. The EBP puts it in the ported camp, but that Mechanical at 5.36?? ________________________________________________Ri ck..... |

Low Xmax, high Fs and 33 gram cone. Not your average subwoofer.

hey guys so if i want some nicve tight bass outa this with a mad thud which is going to slap who evers sitting in the back seat on the back and go extremley loud what am i loocking at? a ported or sealed? cheers.

50 litre vented will give good response down to ~40Hz but not much power handling.

ok i knwo im going to fustrate people by this but what does that mean.. i understand down to 40 hurtz dats sweet but power handling?.. soz for being a noobie.

The amount of power from the amp it takes to drive the speaker to it's linear limits (Xmax). In this case, about 80 watts.
