I'm going to build a 5.1 system using these speakers for my PC. I'd planned on using this 8" for a sub. It would be nice to keep the speakers as a set, the price is right, and it seems to play pretty low for an 8" and the box is a reasonable size. Mostly this will just be used for gaming but the odd time I listen to music or watch movies on my PC.
According to Zaph these won't need a lot of power, his graphs indicate 10W will be plenty. I plan on making a simple 6ch. chip amp, probably using LM3886's. How much power should I count on the woofer needing? |
