Hi all, Curiosity, no test equipment to hand, a mate says, "Can you set up the level on my sub?", what you gonna do? Whats your method, you got to do it by ear and probably have some CDs to use, so what would they be.
If you can, what would you listen for when faced with different box types, what would you expect, say, for a Bass Reflex, and then a 6th order bandbass. Anyone done a Tapped Horn?

Mmm, also, would you apply the same technique for every enviroment?
Would you set up a car system the same?

Subs are tricky, most will set them 6-10dB too loud without measuring.
Set it so you "just" notice when it is shut off would be my first suggestion.
