Adding more foam to sealed box

Whats the effect of adding more foam to a sealed box design ?

Assuming that the foam is open-cell and of low density, the internal volume will effectively increase.

Also bass is tighter and different frequencies are less muddied up and mixed together so you can hear more clarity.
