Looking for any tips or advice to fixed a cracked cone.
The cone is COC (cyclic olefin copolymer). Crack starts at the surround and continues about halfway under the dust cap. I've read CA glues should not be used on polys, but nothing definitive about the COC plastic. To preserve cosmetics as best as I can, I was thinking covering the crack on the face of the cone with tape, and using some type of CA glue on the back side, letting it seep into the crack. Any better ideas? And what about behind the dust cap, should I remove the cap or will gluing on the back side be sufficient? |

Hi, your method sounds like the best idea, no experience of the COC, I'd ask a few adhesive manufacturers as it could be a tricky one, I'm just an electronics guy but I get the impression from searches that its similar to Polypropylene which along with PTFE does not 'stick' that well. Try these people and then 3M
