I've been following that thread from the start. I thought there my have been a review of actual, as opposed to DIY, SPUDs.

yes the only differend is 12 inch and not 8 inch.

They are dimensionally different as well, so are not the same design at all. All they have in common is Tom designed them and they are both TH.
