Hello, I'm going to build a new bass reflex sub using the Peerless XXLS10 830846 and a Hypex DS 4.0. In this project I've decided to use the downward-firing configuration, and so I have the problem of finding good foot. I've found these:
Solen alluminum conic feet So I ask you: is a 5 centimeters distance from the floor to the baffle enough? And at least: where can I find alternative strong conic foot for my project? Thank you very much! |

The way I calculate the minimum distance for a 5 cm height requires that for this driver's Sd, Xmax, the perimeter of the cab be at least 104.14 cm, i.e. 26.035 cm on a side if square for a down firing driver. If the vent is down firing, I need to know its diameter to calc the minimum height, but I can tell you it will be considerably higher than what this driver requires unless the cab's perimeter is much > 104.14 cm.

The size of the interested face is 57.5 x 38 cm, so perimeter is 191 cm (Vb is rather large, 64 litres, the best for this driver, found through three different experimental solution and confirmed by a simulation of a flat response upon the MEASURED T/S params, a bit different from the nominal).
So can I be sure with a 5 centimeters heigth? Please tell us, what method have you used to calculate the min perimeter? Thank you! |

Hello,
normally a 10" has a SD of ~350 qcm, so you need min. ~2 cm, so 5 cm are enough, but more important, underlay your box with a flagstone, in germany 50 x 50 x 5 cm, Beton, ~30 kg, underlayed with 0,5 cm felt.
