I'm searching and reading all that these is to be found on the internet on this topic...

Now my problem, I've got an Seas Excell W21E002 woofer, and I'd like to use this one as an subwoofer for music. Closed box with 75Liter with flow resistors from ScanSpeak should do a nice job.

Now on the amplification part: My options are the Hypex DS2.0(at 225euro), the RCM Detonation DT150(at 200euro) and the Protos SA100(special sale 130euro).

Which one has more power and control over the woofer, my goal is good clean music, not to be blown away.

What I figured out is this:
Hypex DS2.0 has 175Watt on 4Ohm
RCM Detonation has 150Watt/300Watt on 4Ohm
Protos SA-100 has 150Watt on 4 Ohm

The RCM is a Class-D, has bassboost programmable and the Hypex is also a Class-D with bassboost programmable with a Damping Factor of 500! I have the DS1.2, and I'm satisfied with it... But for my music sub I do want some more control.
The Protos is a bargain, with 0,01% distortion and 100Db Damping factor, but I don't know if it's an Class-D...

Could anybody help me? Should I go for the Protos because of the price? Or has experience with these unit in combination with an Seas Excel W21/W22?

I too have been looking at various plate amps as I am just about to start building a pair of subs for audio.

I initially liked the look of the Reckhorn as it would mean that I did not have to attached amplifiers to the cabinets.

Unfortunately, it looks like The Reckhorn does not have high level outputs for satellites (only line level). Also, it does not support stereo operation, which I believe is necessary if crossing over at 100Hz or higher?

Does anyone know of any plate amps that are standalone like the Reckhorn that might suit my needs?

I've mailed to a dealer, they say that high input is possible, but it has no filter for the speaker-output-loop with an high-filter.

I have searched to find a stand-alone sub amp, found a few, but they are more expensive:

Reference S.A. Anthony Gallo amplifier
Phoenix Gold AS 200 Watt Subwoofer AMP
Klipsch RSA500 IN-WALL Subwoofer Amplifier For RW-5802
Boston Acoustics SA1 140-WATT Subwoofer Amplifier

You could also build a plate amp in a box and insert an terminal in it for the cable/sub-out... Seen it before.

Anyway, the Reckhorn is VERY powerfull, the new (soon to be released) A-402 has even bigger and better cap's in them, with a better terminal for the subwoofer-out... And has a lot of options to tune your subwoofer level, even some more than standard plate-amps have like boost level/frequency, EQ level/frequency and Satelite Cut-out.

Since the A-400 could drive two XXL 12 Peerless drivers rather loud, I would expect that the A-402 doesn't get into trouble driving my Seas Excel W22... And that for only 220-230 euro's.

But indeed no Stereo option....

Ofcourse it only has line level out fore mains, what else is needed
Adjustable highpass, 50-300hz, 24db

Fore stereo you only need to buy two of them :D
But it can easily drive two mono subs in paralel

Omnes(BluePlanet) have an interesting digital sub filter with lots of EQ options, maybe designed by german specialist HiFi Akademie

Earthquake have designed an affordable and very interesting "little" amp, Nova PA 600 with tough low impedance drive and bridgeable into 4ohm possible

All together not the cheapest way to do it
But nice
