Horn loading a built sub

What happens when you horn load a commercially made sealed sub

The sealed chamber is the sealed enclosure of the sub and then add the aftermarket horn

It becomes a compression loaded horn and its gain BW will depend on all the various specs.

My thinking of doing this is to extend the frequency response will this concept be possible or I will just get better gain ?

Got enough loudness already but extending a few more HZ wont be so bad...

The main feature of a horn is to increase efficiency. This could in effect increase bass response when coupled with active EQ. A horn for low frequencies is usually very large!

Download Hornresp. You'll need driver parameters and know the size of the sealed chamber. As mentioned, the horn for low frequencies must be very large and if you build the horn too small it will actually adversly affect your bass response (by making higher bass ranges louder and overpowering the lower ranges)
