So I find myself in possession of two Cambridge SoundWorks Ensemble I subwoofers. The surrounds are cracked. I'm thinking about turning them into subwoofers to add some much needed low end to a small 3" fullrange system I have in the Kitchen.
I'm unable to find any T/S info on the web. The drivers are 6 ohm. The boxes are very well constructed, but quite small, with about 1/3 cubic foot volume. One interesting thing about them is the dust cap: it is covered with a metal propeller-like structure. This is part of the cone, not mounted to the pole, as it moves with the cone. So is this worth a refoam kit to add a little bottom end to a kitchen system? Or will I be disappointed even if I get them as good as new? |
