Hey everybody, Im a newbee here and Im looking into doing something new. I am very good with pre-manufactured equipment that I use with my church and band. But, here soon, I would like to build new mains and subs cosmetically similar to the EV eleminator i series, but using either eminence, Peavey, or other similar (fairly low priced) drivers. Let me say, I am brand new at thils part of sound engineering and can use all the help I can get. I will be using my mains I have for now, and plan to keep them as back-ups, but I know I (with A Lot of help) can build better. I have the Peavey PV series 118s and 115s now. I will want to build the subs first.

Well the first step will be determining for what use will the sub(s)
be used. Music styles and also pre-recorded vs live. Then venue. Outdoor long throw will be need as with large venues. Small to Medium will need short throw. Then budget. Then size. From there you can get an idea of where you can go with a design. Yes, lots of factors determine what you need. Think about it and post. Plenty of help here. |

Check out Bill Fitzmaurice's site... he offers plans to build excellent PA speakers that compete with the established players in the field. This one might be appropriate for what you're looking for...
