I hava a 12 inch Alpine Type X subwoofer hooked to a PDX-1.1000 amp and I have the gain set at a bit more that half. I have 4 gauge wire and I have the original battery in my car. Now when I turn up the volume, my sub doesn't distort or anything, instead it will make a clipping sound and shut off. When I reboot my head unit it comes back. It doesn't always happen but I would just like to know if this can damage my sub and what can I do to prevent this?
Thanks in advance! |

How did you set the gain??
Just arbitrarily set it to half?? If so that is incorrect |
