Default Sourcing decent subwoofers in Australia

Hey everyone, Ive bought a jaycar 350w plate amp, and im looking to source a suitable subwoofer for the sole purpose of music. I live in Perth WA and am finding it hard to find a range of subs. The only one that seems to interest me is the Peerless 12" 4ohm 830844.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

This place just started up. You can model some of these subs and see how they compare to the Peerless.

Buy direct from Madisound in the US. I've been buying from them for years. They have drivers in stock, ship straight away, LIST their prices and with the current exchange rate it is cheaper to buy/ship from them than a local company. And if your driver(s)<$1000 you won't pay GST/duty on the way in.

I've used PE, Madisound and others for 6.5 inch drivers

But the freight on 12 or 15 inch drivers . . the very best of them weigh > 10 kg.

Buying direct from speaker distributors in the States is a good choice, I bought quite a few units from them. The main problem is expensive postage, the cheapest postage is via USPS, US International airmail.

Some distributors are reluntant to send overseas and some charges too much for postage,eg PE. You can get around that my finding a trustworthy friend(there are many around) in the states to buy on your behalf and post them to you via USPS. I bought mine using this method very successfully.

Cheers.

That is under list price, but I'm sure you could do better for less. Unless you need to compensate.....

The Mach 5 Audio IXL 18 from Affordable Drivers for $309 looks a much better deal for some serious bottom end grunt
