hi


last week my friend bought sammi 12 knight(second hand)
i try to simulate with win isd lab 2 and eminance. i surprise
when i see all graphs.(close box .707) lab 2 is flat. but win isd and eminance are peak. i want to know why it's diffirent? please some guy helps alot(a little does nok helps...lol)

one year ago pass by. i cannot get the answer. don't know my friends why they are disappear at all. i try to remember but a long time i cannot. let the time go by. one day i find my friend the name is"steren"in thailand.oh wow! i can remember but now i don't know where he live. the end of my hope. i see the google search engine. i begin to smile and very happy. at the moment i type his name"(sreten+Brighton UK)"+(GM+Chamblee, Ga.usa)
+(svente+sweden) on the google tab. oh no i remember that svente is afraid of my english lg but i'm afraid of his swedish lg as the same.LOL ok i cut out his name.it's only left "sreten+Gm" as soon as i finish to type i hurry up click "go" i lol that is very high technics and high performance. the google search engine begin to work.i hear the sound when it works"chap..chap..." i lol that why the sound of search engine is very loud. i think and lol that sreten and Gm cannot hide me. and now the google search engine is stop. i hurry up to see.i'm sorry"the page is not be found"LoL

Looks like you have entered a very high inductance. Check what you have entered for the parameter "Le". Many simple modeling programs ignore this and will show a flat line. Could also be some other kind of user error.

Well, the datasheet and the LAB software (screenshot) are showing an Le value of 4.18mH which appears to be correct.
Why 'LAB' isn't considering this high Le value is out of my range.
I tried it with 'AJhorn' and it shows a rapid drop of the estimated SPL curve like 'Win ISD' and 'Eminance'.

This chassis with its heavy cone (Mmd = 452.20g) and large voice coil is of course only usable as subwoofer. And with its lazy SPL of just 80dB you barely need a kilowatt of amp power to get anything out of it.

Another thing in the SPL vs. Freq. diagram is also very unusual: the peak at 200-250Hz which is 10dB(!) above the average (35-150Hz). Since all three chassis on that particular internet page have the same issue they might suffer from the same problem ... .

Sometimes I really ask myself why engineers are designing such a crab?!? Just to advertise that you need outstanding power from a high tech power amp. That sound great at first sight: Hey I got a 2 Kilowatt amp in my car, and what about you? Well, some guys have more audio power in their car as others have for their total driving power.
Talking about power: In turn to satisfy the hunger of the amp for energy you have to add a 2nd battery, maybe a 2nd alternator, a high cap of at least 470000 microfarads (or much more) and so on. This is the right 'food chain' to sell things nobody really needs but everybody wants.
I'm still satisfied with PA chassis in my car and they make much more SPL with much less power than other 'designs'. OK, they might not enlighten the lowest hearable octave in the audio band - but to be honest - there's not much 'happening' down there.

Ron is right, the published Le causes the peaking response in the other two programs, so I recommend you quit using the Lab 2 program for speaker box design since it does not take Le into account.

Since Hornresp is so popular on this forum, why not just use it?

I just wanna add this statement, that, after I investigated a little some more datasheets from SAMMI, all chassis have that peak between 200Hz and 250Hz.
It could be the case that someone hasn't done his homework when measuring and therefore all diagrams are showing this peak.

Since the PA line of chassis have definately different voice coils than the ones in the car line I guess the measurement setup and/or location was somehow 'insufficient'. How reliable those diagrams are now can everybody consider himself. For myself, I don't trust them at all !!!

u suggest me to design trap horn or not?
GM trap horn is very big cause that i don't like. ok deep bass respond andhigh dynamic. it's very difficult to build. but i will download because i'm afraid that david may be sad.if i don't download.lol
