Possibly Cheap home theater subs! UK
Just bought a pair of JBL GT4-12 drivers off Ebay for my commuter car. Whilst modelling I noticed that the driver models really nicely in an EBS type enclosure for home theater.
I modelled 2 drivers in a 200L enclosure ported to ~18Hz. They're so cheap you could stick 8 drivers in 4 boxes around the room and get some pretty awesome bass. Just an idea as there aren't many drivers available in the UK.. Rob. |

Good call. A freind wants a new car sub, something which goes deep. A pair loaded iso-barik into a ported box looks like a good balance of extension, volume and size.

Looks good in a TH also assuming the published specs are reasonably close.......

Hi,
The GT4-10 also has good parameters and excursion for smaller boxes : 12mm Linear one-way X-max and dual 40oz(80oz)magnets make this subwoofer a great choice for high output applications. Progressive spider provides better control at excursion limits than more commonly used linear spiders. General Sensitivity 90dB Impedance 4 Ohms Voice-Coil Diameter 50mm Cut-Out Diameter 232mm Mounting Depth 150mm Overall Diameter 258mm Vas 40.14 liter Qts 0.42 Fs 29.6Hz Qes 0.45 Qms 6.45 :)/sreten. |
there's that same recommendation again.
find the maximal flat response box size and detune by approx half an octave. 45L, 29Hz or 20Hz. |
GT4-10 ....LOL....have pics have sub....LOL(brett theory)

Hi,
THe GT4-10 is also a decent option if you want smaller subs. Main difference is Vas, the 10" will have boxes ~ half the size of 12". :)/sreten. |
