Hi there,
I don't have a design but I have been looking at small woofers and subwoofers that might fit your needs well. The three questions: How small should the box be? How low in frequency do you want? Is your source mono or stereo? As always, compromises must be made. |

Creative Sound SDX7 will fit in as small as a sealed 1/8 ft^3 box.

Tiny subs need tons of eq to produce anything resembling bass. Pick one that has big excursion that you can drive the heck out of. |

it's too bad you just missed those subs on special sale at partsexpress! I think they were under $20.

Why bother with "tiny"? Just stick it under the desk and the size doesn't matter. I'm using the box I orginally built for a Mustang hatchback, about 2.4 cubic feet. It makes a nice footrest.

Parts Express still has the other Tang Band 5.25" sub for under $20. I'm just bummed that they discontinued the 4" W4-992S driver. I bought a pair to use in a couple of tiny subwoofers for some ultra-small full-range speakers I have that use Tang Band W3-594S drivers in small sealed boxes, but nobody else will be able to build them unless they already bought some of the W4-992S during the clearance sale.
