Hey all great site. I'm a newbie to speaker building and came across this forum while looking for info on sub enclosure design.
I built a jukebox a while back but the PC speakers just didn't cut it for me. Here's a pic; http://img513.imageshack.us/img513/9...kebox19wh2.jpg I purchased 2 12" subs and a 350watt amp to power them. Below are links to the specs and some pics; 12" Sub specs - http://jaycar.com.au/productView.asp...ub&SPECIAL=&fo Sub amp specs - http://jaycar.com.au/productView.asp...PECIAL=&form=C 12" sub - http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/2505/dscn0942yx1.jpg 12" sub - http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/1040/dscn0943zv8.jpg 12" sub - http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/1791/dscn0944vg3.jpg 12" sub - http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/6701/dscn0946mc4.jpg Sub amp - http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/7128/dscn0948bd0.jpg Sub amp - http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/19/dscn0949hh3.jpg Sub amp accessories - http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/4489/dscn0950qn6.jpg The 2 subs will mount just like in this similar cab... http://www.knievelkustoms.com/ms17.jpg Would I be better off buying a premade enclosure and fixing it in place, or build my own? I have little knowledge of volumes/ports/vents etc. I asume though given the specs of the subs I need an enclosure volume of 158.908l? I will also upgrade the mids/tweeters also but that's a nother matter I will deal with once I finish the subs. I have no idea about wiring this system to give the best performance so any help there would be greatly appreciated also. Will update with more pics as the process continues. Cheers Ben |

I tried that program before posting here and found it too confusing lol.
What would be the ideal sub enclosure for these 2 12" drivers/amp for playing hard rock/heavy metal/top 40 |

I'm thinking of going with the first design...
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/attac...amp=1193147259 Would this be a good choice? Can I change the dimensions of the cab (but keep the same volume)? Would 2 of these subs be a good match with a set of these? http://www.theloudspeakerkit.com/sho...&ProcessType=1 Thanks |
