Successful subwoofer matches for Jordan JX92s ?

We are still working on a prototype of a sub woofer to match the Jordan JX92s drivers.

I know M J Acoustics do a commercial compact sub, but just wondered if anyone had any success with either DIY kit's or their own designs ?

Have a look at the BK Electronics site as I believe they make the MJ subs. I have a REGA Vulcan made by BK which works very well. BK are useful as they sell the plate amps and crossovers separately (handy when I finally try to use some Jordan bass drivers).

This one looks particularly interesting as it has variable bass EQ.

BK sell Peerless drivers or you could try this chap on eBay - he seems to have some connection with BK and has a wider range of sub drivers for sale.

I don't know what the timescale is but EAD are planning to reintroduce the Jordan bass drivers. The JX125 would work as a sub in a 33 litre ported enclosure.

Thanks all for the pointers, my interest was mainly one of curiosity, on what sort of designs people have implemented if any to match these drivers and how they turned out visually.

The MJ matched sub in my mind is a little diminutive, not taking anything away from it, but our design goals were two fold. Something of high quality and seamlessly matched sonically, enclosed in something that would suit most décor.

Oh and something that could be manufactured easily. That said I think we are on something like our sixth cabinet, either from my blundering with dimensioning or panels getting smashed up in the post !

Most commercial compact subs seem to go for the cube format, so perhaps you could try something different. The old Jim Rogers sub (to match the JR149 cylinder speakers) looked quite good and had more of a coffee table feel. It may be possible to get circular section tubes to simplify construction.
