Ok so the speakers I built use metal cone drivers (HiVi Ma series) and ribbon tweeters. Wanting to keep with the theme (the drivers aren't covered by a grill or anything) I decided to go with a metal cone subwoofer. Unfortunately any metal cone ones I can find in my area are car subwoofers that are annoying colors with the brand name stamped across them. Can anyone suggest a plain looking metal cone subwoofer? I'm looking for something in the 15"-18" range.
Also concerning the enclosure what type would you suggest? I wanted to try something that you don't see too often like a double chamber reflex ( click me ). |

Try this:
http://www.tcsounds.com/products.htm You might want to move quickly, though, because they're discontinuing their online driver sales. |

expensive but will work (was looking for something a little cheaper)...actually I was just looking on parts express and they have the HiVi M12. It matches the rest better than anything else I could buy but it's not really a subwoofer (at least as far as I know the definition).

Try AESpeakers , they had some 15" aluminum cone subs for $125 recently.
If you go with 12's, look at these. Both are very good products. cheers, AJ |
