Default new Apex Jr. 3 inch M & K ?

Has anyone played with the new 3 inchers from Apex Jr. enough to have some measurements or parameters?

He's only had them in stock for a bit over a week, but has been selling some.

The are at:
http://apexjr.com/speakerstuff.html
currently the second item on the page.

The only description we have so far is:
M & K Sound
3" Dual cone 12 ohm Speaker $3.95ea

The picture shows them front and back. The driver seems to have a secondary cone similar to what was called a "whizzer cone" (still called that?) but a good bit larger.

If we can get some good work out of these, they are a steal at $4 each.

They are also small enough to pack tightly for a line source array.

They look like they would have a pretty high moving mass to area ratio (small, extra cone, big surround) so they may be pretty innefficient though.

There is not an infinite supply available--maybe 600 left or so--we can't all build line arrays with them, but maybe they could also work in a WMTMW ? Dunno. Need some numbers first.

Anyone?

Did you ever buy any of those 3" drivers on the Apex site?

When I replied to this message (after searching) I was unaware that it was originally posted in the "Subwoofer" section. Perhaps a moderator could move it to a more appropriate section (Loudspeakers?)?

Thanks,

Barry
