WOW nice job!
Great job of matching the look and finish, too.
I admire your skills. I wish I had experience with woodworking.
Since I'm so clueless, mind telling how you did all of that?
What did you use on the top and sides of the sub?
What speakers are those? Just curious.

BHTX:
The Sub is a mix of cherry veneer and hardwood. The round posts are 2.5 inch PVC that I veneered,I then cut a 1/2 inch slot in the veneered tubes along the entire length. This is glued on to 1/2 "wings"which are attached to the corners of the cabinet at a 45 degee angle.

I used 12 by12 Black ceramic tiles for the sides and the top of the sub.It adds a nice look and provides a nice contrast to the wood.

The satellite speakers utilize 2 Dayton drivers, the RS 5 inch woofer coupled with the Dayton "Euro"tweeter, the driveres are mounted on a corian front baffle.

Bob C.

Thanks Cal:
I would estimate about 100 hours,I have pretty good assortment of power tools which allow me to work efficiently.

I am finishing up a Pre-amp and Power amp which have a similar design features.

That is some mighty fine woodworking, and I`m sure they sound as good as they look. What are you going to use as a source that would compliment the beautiful amp & pre. Pure eye candy.

Xo:

I am not using anything fancy for this system just a mid level Sony cd player. The whole system will reside in a spare bedroom and not see much action, but I sure had a helluva good time putting it all together!....I am already planning the sequel

Thanks!

Very nice work, well done. I'm about to start building a pair of 12in hardwood subs. What is the thickness of the timber? Did you brace it internally?

Thanks:
The box is made from 3/4 MDF.The cherry hardwood is also 3/4 and is glued over the MDF.I used a single horizontal brace internally.
Good luck with your project!
