anyone else use this amp and have problems with it shutting down often? HT is where i have the problems and, according to the reviews on PE site, i'm not the only one. i guess that's why they come with rumble filter set at 30hz stock? guess they have no power at lowest frequencies. any thoughts? Thanks!

sorry, i have one but it's still in the box. i'm planning on using
it to power a lab12 in a tapped horn, but as i just sank a good bit of time into building altec 2-ways, the subwoofer will have to wait a bit. i read the sheet that came with the amp. did you change the filter frequency, and if so, to what? |

hi Phillip, i changed r17 to 20k and r18 to 75k. if i remember right, this gave a boost of 1db 25-30hz and filter of 18.7hz instead of the factory value of around 30hz. good luck with your project!
