Default highest output from two smaller subwoofers?

I have two small (8") subwoofers available that I've taken off a friend's hands and I was wondering what the best cabinet would be to get a lot of output from them. I'm just looking to make a party sub here so I don't care for fidelity nearly as much as pure output. I know it's not an ideal situation, but I got them for free and cabinets are fun to build so I figured I'd give it a shot and see if I can get anything out of it. I've looked at horns, push/pull, plain ol' vents, etc. and I don't really know how to choose.

Any ideas?

Hard to tell exactly, they're early Rockford Fosgate Punch subs and I don't see a specific model number on them anywhere. I think this is about right though:

* Nominal Impedance: 4 Ohm / 8 Ohm
* Power Handling: 100 Watts
* Peak Power: 200 Watts
* Sensitivity: 88dB / 88dB
* FS: 44 / 46 Hz QTS: .37 / .38
* VAS: .67 cu. ft. (19.0L)
* XMAX: 0.19"
* Voice Coil Diameter: 1 ˝"
* Mounting Depth: 3 11/16" (93.7mm)

They will be best in a vented box, start with 20 litres as a ballpark.

is it that cut and dry? I was hoping something fancy out there could do better than the pure vented box.

If your primary goal is output over quality, a bandpass box would be worth looking into.

What changes in the box design if I want to make a single cabinet? I can share the center port and have the drivers face each other, yes? That doesn't mean I should double the volume/ports in the middle though does it?

I believe you want each driver in it's own rear chanber, firing into the same front chamber, so it's like a mirror image? In that case the front volume figure sreten has given you needs to be doubled, and you tune the front section to the frequency as given. That could be accomplished by one or two or even three ports, it depends what diameter pipe you use.
