Default Subwoofer project idea: need some help getting started

I'm embarking upon a whole house audio project. This involves putting a ceiling mounted pair of speakers in each of several rooms in the house. My wife has agreed upon using Gallo Acoustics A'Diva's in a gloss white finish. Since this is not a serious listening system they seem ok for the job.

However they don't have ANY bottom end at all. Thus to supplement the Gallo's I'd like to add a dedicated sub-woofer at each speaker location. Each sub would be attic mounted between the rafters, vented into the room with a single port.

My idea is to mount the Gallo's by hanging them from a stem style mount from above. Ideally have the stem drop through the port of the subwoofer.

The goal is to have reasonable bottom end for moderate listening levels but without having the subs physically present in the rooms.

I have some 8" drivers on hand that might be good candidates for the subwoofers. They were acquired from www.apexjr.com a while ago and were originally the low-end drivers from Mackie 824 powered monitors, which I quite admire.

The specs on the woofers area s follows:

Vifa P22WP-01 8" woofers OEM marked. Used in the Mackie 824 monitors. features: 30 oz. vented magnet, 35Hz - 4KHz, Mineral filled poly cone, butyl rubber surround, cast mannesium basket, 1.5" voice coil

TS: Fs 29.5Hz, QMS 2.20, QES 0.31, QTS 0.27, Vas 77 l, Re 5.8 ohms, Sd 235 cm2, Rm 2.5, Bl 10.2, Md 29.5 g, Xmax 6 mm

Where I need help is working out the design of a suitable cabinet to arrive at a bandpass enclosure with a single port.

I used to have a copy of BassBox Pro but have misplaced the CD. Anyone here willing/able to advise or assist?

Michael

Alternatively, if you have a favorite software for enclosure design I'd be interesting knowing about that as well.
