New project question

Hi all,

I'm thinking to realise a new project: a subwoofer box, to be placed in my living room, under my sofa.
I have a plenty of space (the sofa is 2.5 m length and 1.1 m depth), but I only have an height of about 16 cm (6.3 inches).
So, my idea was to realise a transmission line box using few 5" subwoofers, maybe connected two by two in push-pull configuration.
So, my questions are:
1. Any project already done you can pass me?
2. Can you provide me with any loudspeaker model/brand, possibly easily available here in Italy?
3. If you have different ideas that can work, please let me know.

The maximum power I'd like to put in it is about 50+50W RMS in the worst case.
I will use a solid state amplifier, made with 2 LM3886 chips.
It will be used with my hi-fi equipment, just to help my SE tube amplifier.

Though not meeting your specs, the Boogieman project at PartsExpress (http://www.partsexpress.com/projects...man/index.html) might inspire you. It uses four Tang Band W6-1139SG 6 1/2" subwoofers in an enclosure less than 6" tall.
