I am building a subwoofer and i used a tda2050 parallel circuit to move it, and it comes out to be that it barely moves the speaker (which is 10" and about 200RMS). I need a really powerful amp, any suggestions?
I forgot, if possible it should work with +-70v or more, and it'd be nice if it had the pcb, cause i've tried to design some amp pcb with Protel and they didn't work out

Plus the pcb has to be single sided!!

Budget? Have you thought about Class D? What's so freightning about double sided? Before computers, you used to "tape" layouts.
That was rough. A 6" x 6" board would be layed out on a 2' x 3' layers of velllum magnified. Fun. <G>. |

I'm curious why you think that you need to see the speaker move. If the room is small (as I suspect it is since you are using a 10" sub) you won't see a lot of movement at reasonable volumes. Does the sub seem like it keeps up with your mains?
Are you using the driver in a ported enclosure? That will keep excursion down. Before going to a new amp, be sure that you are getting a good signal to your driver - stick a voltmeter across it and see what you get when you are trying to be loud. You may find that your receiver settings are not sending much signal to the sub. |

Normally, subwoofers are ported, but there are sealed versions such as Bob Carver's units.
Will your sub be ported or unported? Sealed units with passive radiators can be particularly effective! Anyways, to answer your question regarding an amplifier, I would recommend THIS unit. It has plenty of power to driver a 10" driver and I argue that you cannot find a better deal. |

Try UcD kitsets too.
