Default Safe to run IRF540 on +-42V?

As topic says, Is it safe to run IRF540 on +-42V voltage in the amp (54Wrms 8R)? IRF540 are rated 100V. Output swing won't be higher than 35Vp so total maximum Vds will be 77V, i'd say 80V or a little more due to transformer tolerations. What do you think? It's quite close the limits of brakedown. Or should I go with IRF640 (rated 200V) ?
