Am I in the right thread for the technical bits?
There is a heck of non topic in here hiding much of any use.

I agree a bit with you AndrewT But then again it is Graham's Topic ( with an interesting amp, as usual! ) As long Topic Starter does not mind and people are not disrespectful there should not be problems. I wouldn't have wanted to miss that 'copy of carlos man'. It is remarkable. But remember, it is the INSIDE that counts. And even if that man may be nice it is no way he can replace Carlos, for real. Nobody Can Regards lineup

Hi Andrew,
Yes - right place - real people. Just did a sim to check currents, etc. Input transistors - 700uA Output transistors - 53mA Source mirrors - 3.3mA Vbe for input transistor ~ 0.65V (for upper half the emitter is -ve) voltage across 470 resistors ~ 1.2V ( +ve wrt emitter ) thus output bias (22R) ~ 1.1V ~ 53mA (total both halves) |

Hi Graham,
now I begin to see. The main input bias passes through the 22r. The bias controllers are trimming the voltage on the first input Qs to adjust the output bias to the desired result. Confusion gone. Thanks.
