well ... calculating the expected power with this or the other way makes some sense but realy do expect an amplifier like that to produce this ammounts of power ( forget 1600 just say 300 ) without any protection ????
if you look to any "big amp" rated above 300W@8R (even the cheapest like behringer ) you will notice that have a million ways top guarantee stability to each and every stage ... LTP and the all amplifier with LDR vi limmiters curent monitors for vas and drivers so what makes you think that this design can produce all that power safe and durable ???

You may know that this circuit had designed and simulated with Multisim from the beginning. It was as well a good chance for me, to estimate the possibilities of Multisim. I have to say, that Multisim is a great tool. Its simulation results, represents by 99% the performance of the real module. I may to admit that it was a big surprise to me. First time in my life i did something from simulation directly to pcb drawing with success. Cheers Fotios |

From heat? I think in hell the weather is more cool. As from heatsink ... i have in home three Hitachi DC inverter A/C installed, total 46000 BTU. They work from 11.30 AM up to 4.30 AM continuously. And, you know ... ΔΕΗ is coming Cheers Fotis |

So 1600 *.707= 1100watts RMS. All assuming a sine wave input.

800W into 8r0 is equivalent to driving 10Aac using 80Vac into 8r0.
That 10Aac = 14.14Apk and the 80Vac = 113.12Vpk. Taking these two instantaneous peak values, the instantaneous peak power is indeed 1600Wpk. 10Arms exists. 80Vrms exists. 1100WRMS does not exist in any of these values. |

It should be 1600watts peak and 800watts RMS not 1100, I used .707 of power instead of 0.707 of voltage.

oops, my memory.
Yes, we were talking about 2r0 not 8r0. But 1100WRMS still does not exist. |
