An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

This is a picture of the insides of the prototype of my little from scratch designed and built 2 Active Device, Class A, Solid State Monoblock Amplifier.

The case is really crude but its only temporary (cleaned out insides of an old cassette deck).

I'm running a single NPN gain stage (can't remember the transistor at the moment). Then a single power stage with a 2sk2581 The output is capacitevly coupled (2200uf at the moment) from the 23.5ohm resistors (big 25watt resistors) that are the load for the output stage.

It is powered by a large Sony transformer (the heatsink is also from the same sony stereo that was bought from someone broken) gives it about 40VDC and it is biased at about a half an amp. It puts out about 7watts however the measurement wasn't really accurate as it was done with a speaker connected, not a fixed resistor (I have to order some).

It's currently just a prototype that was thrown together with the knowledge I have of amplifiers and it is actually being tweaked on the bench right now which is why there is the mess of alligator clip leads on it.

Hope you like it!
