Hi guys and gals,
I hop you can help me on this. I've had years of service out of my 3020b but recently the treble in the left channel seems to have gone. I've swapped the speakers and as the other speaker then has the same problem that isn't the problem. Is there any way of reparing this or should I look at a new amp? If you have any ideas let me know. I should also point out that I'm a newbie when it comes to electronics.....which probably doesn't help! Cheers, Gareth |

The opposite - too little bass- would be easier to explain, say by a capacitor in the feedback loop gone dry, etc. But anyway: Try to turn the treble knob and all the other knobs rather violently up and down (all the way) for a few seconds. Perhaps there is a contact issue in there somehow.
If it does not help, you must do more searching to identify the source of the problem. What about the source itself (CD player etc)? Another thing, you could test the pre and power sections separately. You can separate them on the back, where it says pre out /main in. You could use pre out left with main in right and vice versa. You will have to use a cable instead of the u-shaped metal things. |
