I have been reading and I was wondering to build a passive preamp is it nessesary to use coax and switch the ground, or just ground the case and switch only the signal wire, if the latter is the case only a single conductor would be needed?
Am I correct in thinking this?
I was also wondering if I had a toggle switch connecting the signal directly to the output, this would pass the signal directly with no attenuation from the pot. Is this a viable way to do the opposite of mute?
